Hidden Pearls of Georgia: Travel the Unbeaten Path

Adventure Georgia tour will take us to uncrowded tourist attractions and we will have a chance to explore real life of the local hospitable people. The road from Rabati fortress will take us to Goderdzi Pass to explore Alpine Botanical Garden and Beshumi Village. We see a real Georgian wine cellar and learn about ancient technology of winemaking, harves tea leaves and attend cooking masterclasses: 

Day 1 - 08:00 AM: Meeting with the guide at your desired location and start the journey. We have to take a short drive to visit the town of Mtskheta, which was the capital of Georgia before establishment of Tbilisi. Mtskheta is approximately 2,500 years-old and included in the UNESCO Heritage List. Here you will see Jvari Church built in the end of VI century. From here the beautiful panorama of Mtskheta, which lies between the peaks and the confluence of two rivers opens before our eyes. Arrive to Borjomi and taste famous mineral water from the springs. We will enjoy spectacular 3 hours hiking in Borjomi Park along the river Borjomula. We will have dinner at Nika Khachapuridze's wine cellar and check in at the local Guesthouse.
Overnight in Akhaltsikhe town. Meals: diner. Tour route: 200 km / 125 miles.

Day 2 - We drive to Vardzia Cave-City, en route photo stops at Rabati Castle and Khertvisi Fortress. Vardzia cave town, built in 12th Century - comprises hundreds of rooms carved into the rock, stretching for nearly one kilometer and reaching the height of 13 floors. Visit the masterpiece of Samtskhe-Javakheti Province: Zarzma Monastery. Start off-road part of the trip to Picturesque Goderdzi Pass, visit Alpine Botanical Garden and Beshumi Village. Accommodation and diner in the hotel.
Overnight in Goderdzi Resort. Meals: breakfast, picnic lunch and diner. Tour route: 230 km / 150 miles.

Day 3 - After breakfast explore Green Lake located in the mountains. Drive to a farmer Lado Shavishvili family in Vaio Village of Mountainous Adjara Province. Here we see a real Georgian wine cellar Marani and learn about ancient technology of wine-making in clay amphora “Kvevri” that are usually buried in the ground. From the cold mountain glaciers we will continue to warm Black Sea: One of the largest botanical gardens is located near Batumi - on the slopes of Green Cape Mountain and has 9 departments, more than 5000 species and varieties of amazing plants that occupy 113 hectares. The Botanical Garden offers a lovely view of the coastline. After some rest near the sea, we will drive to the next Province - Guria. Accommodation and diner in Ozurgeti.
Overnight in Ozurgeti Town. Meals: breakfast, lunch and diner. Tour route: 180 km / 115 miles.

Day 4 - Visit village Bakhvi, where we explore rich traditions and culture of Tea growing in Guria Province. Program will start from Teneshvili family tea plantations, where you will learn how to pick tea leaves yourself, same time you’ll visit family run small tea factory. Afterwards, we will move to our culinary masterclasses in another Province and will have “Imeretian Khachapuri” preparation with locals. We will be accommodated in the host’s Guesthouse in Sazano Village. 
Overnight in Sazano Village. Meals: breakfast, lunch and diner. Tour route: 150 km / 95 miles.

Day 5 - depart toward small mining town Chiataura, the city of cable cars and magnificent Katskhi Pillar, this is 40-meter high natural limestone monolith towers over the gorge of the Karshuna River. On top of the pillar is tiny church (Only monks are allowed to climb up the steel ladder to get the top of the Pillar). We’ll have photo stop at Katshi Pillar and then will visit Mgvimevi monastery, which is built 8th century into the caves. Tour will be concluded after excursion in Chiatura and we’ll drive you to the desired location.
No accommodation included. Meals: breakfast. Tour route: 260 km / 160 miles.
